PADI/RAID Divemaster course

Course Outline

The PADI / RAID Divemaster course is a performance-based programme and is divided into three modules: Knowledge Development, Waterskills & Stamina and Practical Application. You’ll attend pool sessions, theory sessions and open water training with live courses to gain the necessary experience to work in the industry. We are a busy school and you can expect lots of interaction at various levels.

Knowledge Development

You'll have independent study, classroom sessions and evaluation on such topics as your role as a Divemaster, management, rescue, dive physics, physiology & environment culminating with a final exam.

In water skills & stamina

This module develops candidates in water skills to the level appropriate for demonstrating to student divers and to prepare for higher training levels. You'll conduct stamina swims, rescue scenarios, demonstrate emergency skills & management with coaching.

Practical Application

You'll put into practice the skills you've learned in an open water environment & have exposure to working with live students under close supervision.

Cost & duration

Your course will depend entirely on your commitment. Typically, the average time taken with us ranges between 9 and 18 months. £695 inclusive of course materials that you'll receive at the start of the course, certification, pool fees AND air fills!!

We take this in three parts, £295 at the start of the course, £200 half way through with a £200 balance at the end.

Travel to and from the training locations and open water sites are your responsibility but there's always an opportunity to share a vehicle. You should ideally have all your own dive kit.

What's next?

Once you’ve passed your course and awarded the grade of PADI/RAID Divemaster you’ll be in a position to assist with the running of courses & guiding dives here at Bay Divers and get paid for it when there is a requirement! Also, one of your roles will be the ability to take beginners on try dives - exceptionally rewarding!
